The GrowRoom values

As a sustainably focussed digital marketing agency, GrowRoom operates under four core values: Sustainability, Care, Accountability and Passion. These values tie into and guide us through the work we do supporting local, national and international charities.

From rainforest restoration and wildlife protection, to domestic abuse and food waste reduction, the partnerships we make with charity organisations keep us grounded in our purpose as an organisation: to be a leader within the sustainable community, propelling socially and environmentally responsible brands into global awareness.

Employee benefits

We’ve tied in our pledge to donate at least 1% of all revenue (we actually donate more like 3%) to environmental causes, with our enhanced employee benefits package, which means each of our full time employees is given £1,000 annually to donate to a charity of their choice.

Because each person chooses their own cause, the diversity of charities we support has naturally grown in a really meaningful way.

Our charity partners

The charities we’ve donated to over the last 12 months have covered a wide range.

We recently hosted a visit from The Shrewsbury Food Hub at our office, after our Head of Paid Media, Ben Jackson chose them as his nominated charity. We love supporting local organisations that are making a real difference.

It was a super insightful visit, and we got to learn a load more about the amazing work they’re doing locally. One of the big problems they have is storage and distribution of surplus food, so it was even better for us that they brought a box of yummy food for the office, which the team have spent the past couple of days diving into.

Our charity work

As well as the charity organisations we’ve partnered with, as a company, we like to do our own fundraising activities, regularly have visits with charity partners, and encourage staff to take volunteer days.

In 2023, as an organisation we cycled from our office in Shrewsbury, to Amsterdam, raising over £2,000 for Eden People and Planet.

Google Ads grants for charities

Another avenue for fundraising, membership signups and overall growth that a lot of charities we speak to often aren’t aware of, is the Google Ads grant for charities. This grant gives eligible charities up to £8,000 per month in Google Ads spend to be used in Google Search ads.

The criteria to receive the grant is quite specific, and there are certain levels of compliance management that needs to be met, which requires monitoring of all campaigns to ensure ongoing adherence to Google’s strict rules, including the 5% CTR requirement, Quality Score checks, and conversion-based bidding strategy enforcement.

How we help charities

As an organisation, GrowRoom supports charities in several ways. Through the annual donations we make to our chosen causes, which currently sits at roughly 3% of all revenue.

On top of this, we offer discounted services to charities and community interest groups, and we’ve even delivered pro-bono work for organisations that needed extra support. If you run a charity and want to see how GrowRoom can help, let’s talk.
